Giving Tuesday helps cats like Butterball

Last year, around Thanksgiving, this sweet boy was hit by a car. Humane Haven received him
through animal control, who had picked him up after the accident. He sustained substantial
injuries to his right rear leg, resulting in nerve damage to and amputation of that leg. With the
help of great vets and an amazing volunteer who cared for him in her home, Butterball adjusted
to life on three legs very well! It was a matter of time, experience, and the appropriate
environment, for Butterball to adapt to his three-leggedness. We just had to wait for the
perfect family to want to share their love with him.

As it turns out, there was a woman who already had a tripod cat who lost one of its rear legs
years ago, so she was well-skilled in what cats in this situation needed. The meeting between
them was a perfect match! Even with all he went through, Butterball was one of the sweetest
and most gentle cats ever, and in our opinion, was adopted into the best home possible.

We do much more than provide cats with food, litter, toys and socialization. We’re there for
them when they need surgery or other medical care. We’re there for them when they need
rehabilitation. And we’re there to socialize with them and care for them daily as they wait their
turn to find their forever families.

This is what we do. This is why we do it. But we need your help to continue.

Our need for food, litter, treats, toys and monetary donations is year-round. If you want to
donate items through our Chewy.com wish list, you can do so at https://bit.ly/3qQrlb8

If you want to make a monetary donation, go to our website at

Again, thank you ❤ so much for your continued support as we find loving homes for our cats
and kittens.
