Last week we learned of the unexpected passing of one of the long-time volunteers with HHAS, Annie S. Annie and her long-time partner Tim were volunteers for many years with the shelter, helping care for the animals at the cattery. Annie also managed the publicity posts in newspapers and online journals to help garner attention for the cats and kittens that were ready for adoption. She loved our shelter and the wayward souls that we have helped over the years. She always rejoiced every time we had a new Forever Home announced for one of the cats or kittens we were caring for

In addition to caring for and helping the animals of HHHAS, Annie’s heart had a special place for nature and music. Her favorite flowers were tulips, and she would visit Holland, MI to enjoy the array of beautiful colors.An avid lover of live music, especially Lee Dewyze, she enjoyed attending shows, visiting Tim at Ravinia, and cherished all the friends she made as part of the FamiLee.

The world is a little smaller without Annie in it, and we share the grief of her friends, her family and her colleagues and everyone else whose lives she touched. Each member of Humane Haven will remember and honor Annie in their own ways, and treasure the time that she spent with us.
